Fractures, or broken bones, are very common injuries often found in athletes who participate in contact sports, such as football and wrestling. A fracture can be a small hairline crack or a complex as a break that separates the bone into multiple pieces. Although a fracture can occur at any point in the skeletal frame, athletes often present with fractured collarbones, ankles and wrists.
However, Fractures are not limited only to contact sports. Stress fractures can occur when a particular bone is placed under recurrent stress from repetitious motions and activities.
